245 Grain Long Flat Nose Gas Check (.376)

These bullets look great, and shoot accurately for me at 1300-1900fps in a Winchester94. The Lever Action needs a more pronounced crimp groove. I can only load one in the chamber and one in the magazine. With more than one in the mag tube, recoil pushes the bullet into the case. The tapered straight wall case of the 38-55/375Win limits the amount of crimp that can be used. Bullets with a standard crimp groove can be securely roll crimped in place. There is a slightly raised band on this bullet to set a crimp against, but its location leaves a cartridge that is too long for the Winchester action to load from the magazine. Shortening the brass would solve the length issue but also create a neck tension problem.
